10 Things To Do While Stuck at Home On a Snow Day

My husband, Louis and I were texting earlier about what we should do tonight to celebrate the incoming blizzard and the possibility of getting snowed in tomorrow (YAY) so I decided to make a quick list in case you're doing the same. XO

1. Start a Riveting New Netflix Series and Binge Watch it ALL DAY LONG.

My current (and most binge-worthy) favorites:

  • Shameless
  • Riverdale
  • Scandal
  • Black Mirror
  • Daredevil
  • Jessica Jones
  • American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson
  • Mindhunter
  • Ozark
  • Bloodline

2. Make Some Cauliflower Crust Pizza.

Or an awesome crock-pot recipe. Or bake some delicious cookies. What I'm really trying to say is give the Seamless delivery guy a break. He's cold and wants to go home. Tonight Louis and I are making this "tiny-bit-healthier-than-regular-pizza" cauliflower crust pizza with all of our favorite veggie toppings and you should too! My go-to recipe is from healthywithnedi.com.

3. Make a Blanket Fort in Your Living Room.

Put on your coziest socks, surround yourself with every pillow you own, get under there, rent a scary movie, and live it up like you're 12 again.

4. Organize Your Closet.

Because when else will you get the time? This is also a great opportunity to plan out some outfits for yourself. You can also try on the shoes you haven't worn in 2 years and decide whether they're worth keeping, donating, or selling on Poshmark.

5. Download a New Book and Dive in.

These are the ones I'm currently reading or have just finished, in case you were wondering. (And yes, you'll notice from this selection that I'm an avid member of Bachelor Nation. Don't make fun of me.)

6. Two Words: Online Shopping.

Because retail therapy is a real thing. My current go-to's:

7. Do a DIY Facial With Ingredients From Your Kitchen.

Avocados, honey, eggs, and coconut oil make for great make shift skincare/hair products. One of my favorite things to do is to cover my hair with coconut oil and a silk head scarf, make a homemade face mask, (or put on a sheet mask) and fall asleep knowing I'll wake up with a serious dewy GLOW. Here's an amazing list of DIY facials from self.com

8. Take a Bubble Bath.

Put on your favorite acoustic Spotify playlist (I love "Boho Chill"), light some candles, grab a glass of wine, add a bath bomb, and soak until you turn into one big prune.

9. Pet Your Dog For One Whole Hour.

And if you don't have a dog, massage your human for one whole hour. And if you don't have a dog or a human, you can watch some funny dog videos on YouTube.

10. Get a Great 'Gram.

Step 1: Make some hot chocolate. Step 2: Top it with something pretty like whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon, or a large marshmallow. Step 3: Find a backdrop. Your cutest fabric (can be a blanket, dish towel, shirt) or your simplest surface (a plain white table or hardwood floor) will work great. Step 4: Place your current favorite objects next to the hot chocolate (your laptop, a book, a magazine, some cookies, etc.) Step 5: Take a bird's eye view photo, slap a filter on it with the VSCO app and 'gram it so everyone knows just how chill your snow day is. ;)
