The Day I Found My Dress

February 2nd, 2017. ✨

I tried on so many dresses prior to this day, but always knew in my heart I would end up wearing Liz Martinez. My mom and I were planning a trip to the UK to try on her designs when she posted on her Instagram that she was having a trunk show in New York City. My heart skipped a beat and we booked an appointment right away. Her whimsical, light-hearted, unconventional dresses had always suited my personality and style. When I realized her background (Israeli) was similar to mine, I knew that had subconsciously resonated with me, too. 

Fun fact: I actually pinned this exact dress onto my Pinterest board before I was even engaged!

I'm happy I can finally share these photos as it was one of the most special days ever which included belly laughs, a little crying, some of my favorite women in the whole wide world, and of course, celebratory drinks. 🍸👰🏽

I fell in love with the cut of this dress, first and foremost. I never pictured myself wearing a ballgown as I knew I'd be dancing my butt off during my reception. I only dreamed of having an open back, and the rest was up in the air. I put the Sofia dress on and I just knew I felt the way I wanted to feel. Sexy, but not too sexy where my dad wouldn't have approved. The floral appliqué was organic. I loved that it wasn't too symmetrical and didn't seem like a "pattern". The bottom made me feel like I was floating on a cloud. The chiffon bow was the icing on the (wedding) cake.

I will forever recommend Spina to anyone who asks. Not only is it the most adorable, quaint, and warmest little shop in town with the most perfectly curated selection of unique gowns, but Giselle is truly the most genuinely caring person you could entrust with something as important as your confidence and happiness on your wedding day.
